Podcast

I listened to Brian C. Dvorak and his podcast episode number thirty five about Flip Video. Brian Dvorak has been working in the K-12 education for fourteen years. He is currently a technology facilitator at a public school in California. He says his passion is discovering the brand new cutting edge technology, and integrating technology into the classroom.  Brian talks about the Flip Video and its uses and abilities. He talks about how affordable the Flip Video, and the differences between the Flip Video Ultra and the normal Flip Video, and what he recommends. He also tells you the price of each camera. He explains, the name of the camera, and how to use it. He talks about how the Flip Video is run by just two double AA batteries, and how its useful. The frame rate is 30 frames per second, and he also tells you about the screen resolution. He also tells you the size of the camera and all the built -ins that come with it. He mentions that the battery life is two and a half hours.

RSS

The RSS reader I am using is Google Reader which is from my Google mail account. I am subscribed to our whole class but here is a link to a few examples. Some examples include Brianna Doyle, Brittany Hall, Demi Anderson, and Drew Bostic.

An RSS reader is a very useful tool for a teacher. It allows me as a teacher to keep all the blogs I am subscribed to in one place so I don’t have to search in so many different places to get to my favorite blogs, its all in one place. The RSS reader also updates on its own so I do not have to worry about if its changing or not. I’m learning from it because it teaches me to be updated and keep up with modern technology, so that way its easier for me as a teacher, and it may benefit my students.

Mrs. Cassidy by Linda

The reason this teacher blogs is because she thinks that this way other students can comment on their friends work, safe palce to learn about the internet, learning a new form of communication, a chance to view new cultueres and parents and family can be involved in their work.

This teacher is saying that its benefitial for students, its safe because he can edit inappropriate comments, and it also is good for the parents because they can check on what their child is doing in the classroom.

This teacher blogs because she finds it a new and exciting way to keep in touch with other teachers.

I think that blogging will be impotant in my teaching career because it will keep me connected with my students and their parents. The parents will be able to see whats going on in the classroom and can ask questions at anytime. It will also be good for my students to be learning new technology.
